hi just an up date as thanks for replies,  as i have now received service records, very good service,
surprising how much info was sent delighted,,, yes all they need is the request form with name and address , birth date , well worth the effort i would recommend any one interested to do this,

Manning and Records do not require you to tell them the unit(s) he was with when applying for service records. All they require is as follows:

Full Name
Date of Birth and or Army Service Number
Proof of Death
Next of Kin approval

Do you have his Army serial number?

Or do you have any more photographs of him in Palestine?

Can you describe the cap badge please?

Or, can you r rad the shoulder titles?
  thanks for reply,, no I do not have serial number,  only the one photo,,, but I think what I can see of badge it probably is artillery ,, triangle in shape , ?

Anti-aircraft and searchlights almost certainly means your father was in the Royal Artillery - a vast organisation during WW2.  If he was not directly involved in guns and lights he might have been in REME who dealt with technical matters.  I would tell the people at Glasgow 'Royal Artillery' and cross your fingers!

can any one help where to find info on the army in Haifa , Palestine, during the second world war please,
my father was stationed there for the duration, on anti aircraft, searchlights etc.,,, I want to send for service records but they ask what regiment he was in ,, I have a photo in his uniform , but the badge is not that clear on his cap, any info would be appreciated thanks.

hi, trying to find anything on a Florence Teresa BIBBY nee Bruno. died in prospect 1981, born in 1898 London, emigrated around 1966 /70.  would like to know where she is buried and her  two sons  not sure of  their surnames as no trace of them on ancestry, first marriage to Ernest Hutchison
 she was married to my grandfather harry bibby,, second marriage,, emigrated when he died,
