thanks for this, i see there is some confusion,, i expect because of the family rumors others are  not sure where the connections may be,,, i know robert walpole mp had a lot of illegitimate children.
what i have read though ,is that henry de walpole one of his ancestors when i googled had rented for 10shillings hales hall in lodden with his son and wife margaret, how many walpoles were living i wonder in 1700 norfolk,, sharing family roots,
a lady walpole today has an estate in raveningham,,
william walpole moved from hales to cawston and his children ended up in east bilney 6 miles from houghton,, curious if nothing else,,, thanks for your interest,,,,

just to clarify; the connection between hobarts and walpoles was grants given by walpoles to the hobarts in lodden,   walpoles built houghton hall,    still looking for walpoles in lodden /hales area

thank you for your help,, this does seem correct,,, i wonder what connection all the walpoles had in norfolk,, considering the  17th century  population , and the large number of children born to each family, and their movement in the county,
i read the marriage record of william and jane , he came from hales norfolk, but married in raveningham,, moved to cawston and his children moved to east bilney,
the closest place to hales is lodden,,on wikipedia,  i found an estate belonging to hobarts in lodden ,; hales hall , built by robert walpole houghton , also a john and william walpole had some legal row over land on this estate in 1500s ,
i wonder if any records of  walpoles,, in hales,, more questions than answers,,  smayne

can any one help ; walpole family,,, my ancestors were william walpole married jane reeve in cawston norfolk about 1748,  william was born in cawston 1727, cannot find anything about this family other than the local pub in 1800s was called walpole arms,,,

trying to find his parents, only clue is that there was a william walpole born 1693 in houghton norfolk, son of robert esquire walpole of houghton,,
story through the family was that the family were desendants of the walpoles of houghton hall,

robert walpole esquire had 19 children , 9 survived , one being robert walpole mp,
but others and their desendants seem to not have records ,,, but a number of walpole families in and around norfolk in1700s, any clues would be great thanks
