Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Parkinson - Blackburn - 1861 & 71
« on: Sunday 09 January 05 10:26 GMT (UK)  »
The birthplaces I have for the Parkinsons are all Blackburn, except for Thomas who I believe was born in either Blackburn or Birkenhead (conflicting infor in the IGI, 1881 census and 191 census).

William (b.1811) was a "cotton manufacturer" in 1860 and in 1870. He lived in a substantial house in Paradise St. Blackburn in 1870 so presume he was mill owner or something similar, and not just a cotton "worker".

William (b.1852) was living at 2, Grimshaw Park, Blackbrn in 1881 - with auntie Mary Holden.

I cannot find Richard (b1844) in either 1881 or 1901 so presume he must have died.

Could you let me have the details ofthe Harrison family where you found Amelia (?). Maybe I could confirm correct Amelia or not.

Thanks for your help
Ian

Lancashire / Woods family - Blackburn

Does anybody have any info on a Woods family who married into the McNulty family around the start of 20th century. The wife's maiden name was Catherine McNulty (born c.1884). They has a son named Bernard who died (aged approx 25) in the 2nd World War, reputedly in the D-Day landings. Also had another son - name not known. The couple lived in Ashworth Street, Blackburn in the 1920's.

Hi, I don't have any specific information at the moment relating to your family, other than I have a direct ancestor, John Johnson, who lived with his family in Dilworth (now part of Longridge as you probably already know) in 1871 - actual address in Mersey Street. So if you come across the name in your investigations please give me a shout.

Hi,
I have a James McCue, b.1845, strongly suspect in Ireland and maybe related to Cassidy and/or McNulty families - see 1881 census RG10 4173, folio 64

Please revert if you have any info to share!
