Northumberland / William Simpson BELL

My great grandfather William Simpson Bell was a publican finishing his landlord duties in the Queens Head in Blyth. My grandmother was born here in 1899 and, on her baptism certificate for that year her father has three christian names. The William and Simpson are easy to read but the third one has me stumped.Any eagle eyed folk out there ?

Northumberland / The Regent

Found this old photograph which I believe was taken in,or near to, Blyth, Northumberland. The sign on the building appears to say The Regent.
The children seem to be on a carnival float......Any ideas would be gratefully received as the photograph is one of many with nothing written on the back.

I think it is  COANWOOD. It's a small village about four miles from Haltwhistle. Hope this helps.  ;D

Northumberland / Bourne House, Horton.

My aunt, Mabel Walton, was born March 6th 1908 and place of birth on her birth certificate is given as Bourne House, Horton. In 1911, aged 3 years she was with her parents in Delaval Gardens, Newsham.
Can anyone tell me where Bourne House, Horton was ?

Christine,
I am afraid I don't have a list of Newcastle churches which were checked for Robson Walton's baptism. The 'investigation' as it were was a shared work. Other grandchildren of Robson said at the time [2003] that they had spent two day's at Morpeth records office trying to locate him in the Newcastle parishes. They then stumbled upon a hotspot of Waltons in Allendale and the surrounding parishes of Alston, Garrigill and some of their chapelries. The search then became [extremely] spread out.
I summised that these individuals had been thorough and checked out Newcastle churches........On reflection it's probably remiss of me to have done so !

I'm from Blyth [left over 40 years ago] and now live 8 miles from York. I have studied the photographs and am fairly sure they are not taken in or around York.  :'(

Yes, I have all the details about his accidental death, including information from that website.

Thanks.

Thanks a lot for your sterling efforts.
I have now started a new topic regarding Robson and, who knows, maybe it may lead to breaking down a very old brick wall !
