Thanks Dotty for the reply.  I had seen this death, but was hoping to make sure that it was the correct Michael before I bought another cert.  I'll probably have to get it though - I am prone to hitting brick walls!

I was also disappointed that parents names were not recorded as happens on Scottish death certs.  I had hoped to get another generation!

Lancashire / Michael Conroy d 1886 Tyldesley

I have been researching my husbands maternal grandfathers ancestors.  His gr-gr grandparents were Martin Conroy (b 26/5/1869 in Ashbrook, Strokestown, Roscommon) and Rebecca Ainsworth (b 1877 Bolton, Lanc).  In 1901 they were living in Leigh, Lanc.

Martins parents were Michael Conroy & Catherine Malady/Malerdy/Maleady.  They married 1/12/1856 Strokestown.  On Martins death cert, Michaels occ was a farmer.

I have got a death cert from GRO for a Michael Conroy who died 29/5/1886 in 29 Milk Street, Tyldesley.  The informant was his son Peter Conroy (son).  His age at death was 56y.  In 1881 a Peter Conroy was living in Well Street, Tyldesley b ~1858.  This would tie in with a sibling of Martins who was baptised in Kiltrustan, Roscommon 25/10/1857.

Does anyone have this family, and in particular can anyone tell me if the death cert I have is for my husbands Michael Conroy, spouse of Catherine Malady?

Dunbartonshire / Re: Ravenswood Cove
« on: Saturday 26 September 09 17:34 BST (UK)  »
If I am right in thinking there is a place called Cove in Argyll & Bute which is part of the Dunbartonshire county.  I think there is a link between Ravenswood and Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire.

Hope this helps.
