Somerset / Zion Chapel at South Carey
« on: Monday 13 January 14 18:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
An ancestor of mine was married at Zion Chapel, South Carey in 1879.
I'm assuming that the chapel was at Golden Lion Yard in Castle Carey but am unable to locate any records.
Does anybody know whether the chapel records are available anywhere?

I found a record of Congregational Baptisms from 1837 to 1971 (which I've put on FreeREG) but haven't been able to locate any other non Church of England records for the area.

Any help would be appreciated.

Northumberland / Gateshead Baptism 1841?
« on: Saturday 21 September 13 19:07 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm trying to confirm a baptism that took place at Gateshead 10 Feb 1841 for Victoria Louisa Hymers. The Bishops Transcripts end 31 Dec 1840.
If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Re: St John Lee (Northumberland) - FERGUSON

Thanks David,
As a FreeREG transcriber I looked there first.
The only place that I found them was NDFHS but I was hoping that they were freely available somewhere.

Northumberland Lookup Requests / St John Lee (Northumberland) - FERGUSON
« on: Sunday 20 January 13 17:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can access the pre-1837 St John Lee parish registers?

I'm particularly interested in the FERGUSON family of Fallowfield.

I found the George FERGUSON marriage to Elizabeth RAMSAY (St John Lee 14 May 1774) on FamilySearch, but I'm trying to get back from there.

Thanks
Tim

Hi Avril,
I'm a already a member of this and some of the other Hundreds.
Since I posted back in August I'm delighted to say that they (Yvonne and Richard) have managed get the Dean's permission to load the rest of the registers. I think that the only gaps now are the missing marriage registers.

Nick,
I know you posted this a long time ago but did you ever get an answer?

Hi,
Can't help you I'm afraid. I can't get back beyond 'my' Mary Ann Little.

Jo, Kath,
I'm a FreeREG transcriber - with a personal interest in Castle Cary (COLEMAN, BIGGON, GORE, STOCKMAN).
Everything on FreeREG is on the Yahoo Catsash forum in the form of spreadsheets. Due to the various spellings (BIGGON, BIGGIN, BIGGUN etc etc) I often find it better to browse through the spreadsheets.
Currently I'm keying in CC baptisms from 1813 to 1844. When I've finished I'll upload it to FreeREG and to Catsash.
