The attached shows Albert Victor Divall was re-engaged for section D in 1926, was award the British war medal and discharged in 1934 - para 937 rank VR (VIII).

What was section D and para 937 rank VR (VIII)?

Australia / Thomas Walter Thorne
« on: Sunday 19 April 20 18:55 BST (UK)  »
Thomas Walter Thorne was born in Newfoundland 1844, arrived in Geelong on the Prince of Wales via Sydney in 1847 with his father Charles Nuttall Thorne (born Bristol England 1819).
Thomas Walter married Agnes McKellar on 18 August 1872 at St Paul's church, London, England. He died on 2 June 1924 aged 79 at Kurryala in Mosman New South Wales.

I am looking for any shipping records from Newfoundland to Australia, from Australia to London and return.

He was "well traveled", but these movements come from Australian newspapers. \However, to travel from Australia to London to get married? - from his obituary, he seems to only have been a bank official.

The use of the word "Huns" to describe Germans should really be avoided?
It is a derogatory term, similar to "Krauts" or "The Bosch". It's simply not very nice?
agreed, but this was a direct quote from a Gentlemen who was in WW!.

World War One / Walter Grove & Tom Grove Hull

I have been told, Walter Grove Hull born 1890 was an officer in the Royal Artillery, at one point 90% of his battery was wiped out by the Huns, he was promoted rather quickly and finished up with the field rank of Lt, colonel (Major effective) and was awarded the Military Cross.
I have checked the army list and this is correct, the "90% of his battery was wiped out by the Huns" seems to be circa 1917/18. I only know he was in the RA, not which Battalion, is there anyway of expanding on this?

Tom Grove Hull born 1858 (Walters Father) joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (RNVR) as a commander or Lt. commander in charge of designing and overseeing the production of nautical and other instruments for the Royal Navy and the Royal Flying Corps, he was a jeweler in civvy street. However, in the London Gazette he is shown as an airforce major, why?

You have a Frederick or Walter Grove Hull GP in Australia and an Arthur Grove Hull going to SA
What is the connection between these people - Brothers or father and son etc etc
They were all brothers:
Walter Grove Hull born 1858, served in the Royal Artillery.
Frederic/Frederick (as told) or Frank (census) Hull born 1870
Arthur Hull born 1861 a remittance man?
