Good Evening

I am hoping some one may be able to advise me as to whether John and Margaret travelled to New York after 1851 with their children. I have them in 1851 Scotland Census :-

House Glebeside , Dalkeith , Midlothian
John Elliot   35 Candle Maker-master born Jedburgh, Roxburghshire
Margaret Elliot 38
Catherine Elliot 14
Anna Marian Elliot 12
William Elliot 10
Janet Elliot   7
Archibald Elliot 5
Helen Elliot   2
Copy & paste edited , please transcribe the Census.

Then no trace for any of the family at all.

Any help with my search request would be most gratefully received.

Good Afternoon

I am looking for some help in finding the birth and death of James Whitfield

I have a marriage certificate 1874 to a Janet Lindsay Campbell, it gives James's age as 20, occupation Coal Miner  and his martial status is Bachelor, residence is Fauldhouse Whitburn and his parents are given as John Whitfield and Janet Wright.
James and Janet go on to have four children (John, William, Agnes and Robert).

The 1881 Census shows a possible  family living in Crammond Edinburgh. It gives James's place of birth as Crofthead, Linlithgow.

Janet remarries in 1896 to a John Haddow, on the marriage certificate it states that Janet is a widow.

I have checked for James's birth - nothing, there is only one death listed for a James Whitfield in 1895 but that gives different parents and wife.

Any help most gratefully received.
