I'm trying to find out more about Ann (Annie) STEWART.  She was born 8 May 1882 in Glasgow, Scotland.  She was a daughter of William and Isabella (nee SUTHERLAND).

I think I have her marriage record (via FamilySearch):

name: Robert Gray
event: Marriage
event date: 10 Nov 1906
event place: Toronto, , Ontario, Canada
age: 34
estimated birth year: 1872
father: Robert Gray
mother: Elizth Richardson
spouse: Annie Stewart
spouse's age: 25
spouse's estimated birth year: 1881
spouse's father: William Stewart
spouse's mother: Isabel Sutherland
registration number: 003744
film number: 1871549
digital folder number: 004529293
image number: 01114

I have searched the Cnadian census for 1911 and found a Robert GRAY with wife Annie and children Robert and Isabella, but Annie's birth year is given as 1887 (maybe mistranscribed?), but birth month is correct.  So probably(?) her.

I'm quite new to Canadian research and was wondering:

Where would I be able to find Ann's voyage from Scotland, and/or immigration to Canada?

Are birth, marriage and death records available for Toronto?

Also hoping to hear from anyone else who knows about this family.

Many thanks for any help.

Gloucestershire / Thomas HICKS, born 1842, Westwell, Oxon

Please can anyone help me find what happens to Thomas after the 1901 census?

Born 1842, Westwell, married Mary SHEPHERD, on all census records 1851 to 1910 inculsive (Westwell, Bampton, Compton Abdale, Filkins, Turkdean, Shipton respectively, he was a Coachman and moved about quite a bit, but always Oxon / Glos).  His wife died 1896, on 1901 census he is living in Shipton, Glos with a housekeeper and her son (surname JAMES).

I know that I'm not allowed to ask for help to find him on the 1911 census, so I'm asking for help to find his death.  FreeBMD has no records which look likely.  Seems unlikely that he went abroad, but who knows...

I'm trying to find out more about Viva Leonore BEALE.  Her birth was registered Q1 1895 in East Ashford.  I do not know her parents' names.  She married John Thomas CRUST in 1913 (reg Q4, West Ashford), her name given as Vivaleo N BEALE.  Viva/Vivaleo and John had (at least) 8 children, including many who are easy to trace (eg Queenie CRUST, Vivalea CRUST, gotta love those unusual names!), but I cannot find a death record for Viva/Vivaleo.  Her husband John died 1973 in Folkestone.   Please can anyone help?

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Given name is 'Forlorn'?
« on: Sunday 07 October 12 09:21 BST (UK)  »
Census Year: 1901
Piece: 4975
Folio: 133
Page: 11
Registration District: Cardiff
Civil Parish: Roath

Can anyone read the given name for the 8 year old girl as anything other than 'Forlorn'?  And if it is Forlorn, can anyone find a BMD record for her?

I have found two relative (both mistranscribed!) on the 1920 US census:

Stewart GADDEN (should be GODDEN) and Gorden GODDEN (should be Gordon)

both on same Sheet:

film number: 1820129
digital folder number: 4293835
image number: 00901
sheet number: 1

They are 17 and 16 years of age respectively but the relationship for each (on FamilySearch) is given as 'Self'.  I had expected them to be with their mother Edith.

If anyone can provide a transcript or an image that would help me greatly.

Many thanks for any help.

Jonathan

Please could someone find out what address George was living at, and whether it was an institution (seems to be about 50 people living there, FamilySearch does not give occupations)?

film number: 1820859
digital folder number: 4312207
image number: 00861
sheet number: 24

Many thanks for any help.
