The Common Room / how to get reserected on Ancestry tree
« on: Monday 03 June 19 19:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi
My friend is shown on a tree on Ancestry as having died in 2004, but he is very much alive.  The tree in question includes a number of big errors and we are uncertain as to whether the person is truly related to my friend.  Is it possible to get the death date removed and my friend made 'private' on the tree or is the only option to contact the tree owner and hope they will correct their tree?

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Ann or Nanny Cassell marriage
« on: Wednesday 24 January 18 21:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Does anyone have access to the Eastrop marriage register for 19 Oct 1813.  Years ago I found a marriage for James Cox and Nanny Cassell on the IGI, this is listed on Familysearch.org under Genealogies.  I cannot find this anywhere else online except on FindMyPast where it has been indexed by Hampshire Genealogical Society but shows the bride as Ann.  If she is shown as Nanny (even if her name really is Ann) then this is the marriage of my ancestors but if Ann then I can't be sure.  (the baptism of my 3xGreat grandmother Lucy Cox in East Street Independents Chapel, Farnham shows her parents as James and Nanny Cock.

Ireland / Birth certificate with limited information
« on: Monday 02 October 17 14:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Does anyone have advice on how to get an NI birth cert when all I know is full name exact date of birth in Belfast father's full name and mother's first name.
It seems that to apply for certificate I need a more exact place of birth, Mother's maiden name and her address.
The information on Ancestry doesn't show dates so I don't know how to check which is correct and anyway can I order by giving volume rage and reference?

Cheshire / St Oswald or St Thomas
« on: Sunday 16 July 17 10:37 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Please can anyone help with this.
I have found the marriage of Humphrey Jones and Ann Taylor 25 Mar 1799 in Chester on FindMyPast and Anc, the index and transcription say the church was St. Oswald.  The P Reg does not state which parish on the pages and I couldn't see the cover on the microfilm images.  The title screen before page one of the reg on film (viewed on FindMyPast) says St Thomas.
I hope someone can work out which is correct.
Their first child was bpt St Mary on the hill and later children at St Olave so there is no clue there.
I also have a probable birth for Humphrey 1770 at St Olave.

Cheshire / MI transcriptions? Humphrey Jones
« on: Thursday 27 October 16 15:38 BST (UK)  »
HI
Does anyone know of any transcriptions of MIs in Chester?  Hoping for some clues to sort out my Jones tree.
In particular I am trying to find an estimate of dob for Humphrey Jones, Carpenter he married Ann Taylor in 1799 and I have found baptisms for children 1800-1814.
I can't find either in 1841 and there are possible burials:
Humphrey Jones age 46 St John the Baptist, Chester 28 Feb 1815
Ann Jones age 58 28 Feb 1832 from BT (but also a marriage Ann Jones (widow) and Evan Williams 1818)
