Hi Cell,
thanks for those updates,
I do want another piece of evidence before i take one fact as correct, there are so many avenues you can be led up, my current interest in William Williams was from a 1998 e-mail i found on the net, where they have his daughter Ann getting married, which was news to me as she died in childhood. I have the church records from the area they lived in, in Briton Ferry, also for Baglan, not sure why i wanted these but i have them and found that numerous deaths are reported there not in Briton Ferry.

1841   Briton Ferry Census

williams   william   head   40   pilot   1801      gla
williams   margaret   wife   40      1801      gla
williams   william   son   20   pilot   1821      gla
williams   griffith   son   15   pilot   1823      gla
williams   david   son   15   pilot   1824      gla
williams   ann   daughter         1825   30/12/1832
williams   robert   son   11   pilot   1830      gla
williams   john   son   9      1831      gla
williams   mary   daughter   6      1835      gla
williams   thomas   son   4      1837      gla
williams   elizabeth   daughter   2      1839      gla
williams   leyson richard   son      1841

Here is the 1841 census, i have just seen the spelling Leyson, i know there is another Williams family who are not related in the 19th century, who also have a Leyson, i have been corresponding with them, maybe related further back, there is also a Williams family in the Baglan area where Lewis is a very common name.
I know its helpful know my great great grandfathers trade and have been talking with one person who is documenting the archives at swansea relating to this, when he finds more relating to my family name i am updated and i know he sends other people researching Williams family my way too, i assist if i can, it does seem i have good local knowledge there now.
Kind regards

Glamorganshire / marriage? 1927
« on: Tuesday 28 June 05 12:23 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for information about my grand parents on my fathers side, i have my fathers birth certificate now and it mentions that his parents Benjamin Williams married Emma May Elizabeth nee Williams on the 14/02/1927 in Bridgend, this is the first mention of their marriage i have discovered, its on my father's australian birth certificate.
i called the Bridgend Registry office but they cannot find a a marriage between these two named persons for this date or either side of it, they did look.
Does anyone have any ideas?
i have a letter from my grandfather from 1928 in which he mentions his wife and is from the Tennis Court Hotel, in Bridgend.
Any help would be as ever most welcome.
and i thank you in advance
Kind regards
