Hi Wendy

Have some more information on Mary Murray. I Sent for her marriage certificate in Gurnsey.  She married on the 8 March 1906 Thomas Fraser's occupation was as a grocer,  living at Havilland, St Peter Port.  His father was Thomas Fraser, occupation as a wood merchant.  Mary Murray was at major age working as a house keeper also living at Havilland, St Peter Port.  Her father was James Murray occupation as a farmer.  This all seems right for Mary except where it says condition she is also a widow the same as Thomas.  When i wrote for the marriage i asked to see if either of them had wills just to find out more about the children.  Mary has a will of Realty and a will of Personalty, both different and registered in different courts.  And Thomas has a personaly will.

As for Thomas he was born on the 1 June 1857, Lochindinty, parish of Petty in the County of Inverness.  His parents where Thomas and Anne Fraser nee Mackillicau.  But his fathers occupation was as Lawyer, in the marriage cert he his a wood merchant.  I also looked up one of his children Grace Marion Fraser born in Alford and shows that Thomas's wife full name was Bertha Marion Fraser nee Mass they where married on the 10 September 1888 in Downpatrick, Ireland. Thank you for your message. When my great uncle died my father found a box of photographs and inside was a photograph of a Mary Murray's headstone. I am unable to locate cemetery.  The headstone reads : -

In Memory of Thomas Fraser who died 12 Oct 1908 aged 51 years.  Also of Mary Murray widow of the above who died 6 April 1937 aged 72 years. R. I.P.
My gread uncle attended his neice's funeral.
I believe that the 1881 census with Mary Murray on is correct

Kind regards

I am trying to find burial location for Mary Murray who died 6 April 1937, aged  72.  Have tried sending for her death certificate in Scotland and England but not success.  Mary was born 14 May 1865 at a place called Everton, Canonbie.  Her parents where James and Margaret Murray (nee Scott) she had three brothers James, William and Alexander (Alexander was my great, grandfather).  On the 1881 census Mary was unmarried aged 16 years working as a General Servant for Edward Griffiths, who lived at 31 Devonshire Place, Everton, Lancashire.  Then on the 1891 census I think I have found Mary still single working as a servant for William Gracie and family, living at 303 Edge Lane, West Derby (rural), St John the Divine, Lancashire. Then I find nothing, I persume she married but where and when?  I think she married Thomas Fraser (Frazer) as I know he died on the 12 Oct 1908 aged 51 but do not know where? I cannot sent for his death cert as I do not know where he died or his last place of residence.
Would be grateful for any information on the above people
