Somerset Completed Lookup Requests / Ann DOLE (DOEL) Frome area please COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 13 January 11 15:52 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all, having trouble locating details of this lady Ann Dole(Doel) .I can see her on 1841 census in Frome aged 50 living with husband Richard(farmer) aged 60 and son James aged 11. I cannot seem to find her date of death anywhere,I think Richard died in 1850 and 1851 census shows his widow was a Karen Happuch Doel so i take it Ann died before 1850 and gave him time to marry again??any information would be very helpfull,
thanks  Scott Wood

Hi all, received this week the marriage certificate of James Doel to Emma Cosh.
It shows there marriage in the parish church(St Johns) Frome. Living in Hamble,Southampton at the time (1857) It shows his fathers name as Richard (profession labourer)and he was alive at this time.It also shows James was a widower, checked on free bmd and it shows a James Doel married in Portsea in 1852 Does this make things any clearer?

Hi, if you are after records of patients then contact Somerset record office in Taunton, but be aware 100 year rule stands for information given.

just to add to my last note, my uncle has comfirmed the clip from the Somerset Standard was found when clearing his grandmothers (Maria Wood (nee Doel) house after she died in 1949. She must have had some link to this actor who shared her fathers name and place of birth.

HI, had the same problem with my relatives in Wells Lunatic Asylum,Somerset. 100 yr rule is after the records book was finished not date of your relatives death.Try local records office who might put you in touch with someone who has access. Might mean a detailed letter explaining how you are related to the deceased and wanting to tie up loose ends. My relatives both were sent in for mental health issues and caught tb about the same time!
