Technical Help / Re: FamilySearch.org

Try clearing Google Chrome' cache as I am using Chrome and it works fine for me.To do this click on the 3 dots at the top right of the page, then go to More tools > Clear browsing data and make sure browsing history, cached image and files is ticked and then hit the Clear data button. After doing this close Google Chrome and then try again to access the site.

Technical Help / Re: BT email - anyone had to update settings?
« on: Wednesday 17 June 20 20:45 BST (UK)  »
It sounds like a scam email to me, does it ask you to click a link it, if so hover over that link and my guess would be if you look at the address it wouldn't go to a BT website but somewhere else.

What web browser do you use and have you tried using a different one, so if you use Firefox try seeing if it will work Google Chrome.

Technical Help / Re: Phone call from Amazon - but is it a scam?

They also say they are from BT, Sky, Talk Talk, Virgin and the rest of them so the best advice if you get one of these is to just hang up and don't do anything they ask of you if you let the call get that far.

You could try using a different web browser or if that doesn't work give them a call and explain to them what is happening s they might be able to apply this for you,

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Which Subscription

This question comes up a lot on here and there is no real answer as it depends on what you are looking for. For example I find that in the areas of interest to me that Findmypast is better than the others so why not have a look at all 3 of them and use their free search or see what databases they have that could be of interest to you.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Re: More help with Hambling Please

The further back you go the worst names are with regards to spelling so it is quite possible that your Joseph Hembling and Joseph Hambling are one and the same person.
