I can't answer this question but I to have a number of Reason's in my tree around Hadleigh including a Robert Reason who married Sarah Cottlewell in 1691, his father was Robert Reason born 1631 > Robert Reason born 1598 > Robert Reason born 1563 > Richard Reason.

Just wondered where your Robert Reason fitted in here ?

Is that your sign in name, Alan. The user name comes up when you click on the 3 horizontal lines to the extreme right.
It isn't my sign in name as that is a username which is completely different as I don't use my actual name for that. This is the display name which is my actual name but I wonder if they want display names to be our actual name along with a number in it for some reason.

Sandra, thank you so much. I must say I was surprised when I got an email notification for this as I couldn't remember starting it, now I know why it was over 10 years ago !

Once again thanks very much.

This should help you:

Make sure you do the bit under "First set up POP in Gmail" otherwise these emails will not download.

In Thunderbird if you have deleted these emails and also deleted them from trash where they would go then they will be downloaded again if you have Thunderbird set to "keep a copy of emails on the server" so if you don't want this to happen then untick this setting.

And how do you access your email account do you use a program like Outlook because if so and all these emails are in your inbox via your online account then they will download again to Outlook (or whatever you use) until you also remove them from your inbox online or change Outlook settings to the IMAP ones so what you do in one place is duplicated in the other.
