Samuel was actually in Union Infirmary, Tranmere when he died in 1905 and he was in there in on the 1901 census.

Margaret Platt was living with Samuel in 278 Brook Street, Birkenhead when she died in October 1891.

I assume they were both C of E as their son was, whose burial has been found by Neptune.

Thank you Neptune.  I am thinking I may visit the area again next weekend so if I do I will visit their graves.  I have they have gravestones.

Celia, Do you want to try and find Samuel and Margaret for me?  I live in North London and have only in the area once so far.

I do know that the daughter of John and his wife was buried in Bebington Cemetery in the Cof E section if that helps.

The daughter is the husband of my infamous Richard Woods who Andy on here kindly helped me with in respect of Richard's obituary. etc.

Another fellow family researcher/friend helped me trace her and Richard's burial.

Thanks

Cheshire / Port Sunlight - Help needed please
« on: Tuesday 02 June 09 23:06 BST (UK)  »
My Woods Great Grandfather lived at Port Sunlight when my Grandmother was born. He died in 1933. On his death cert it states he was a Wagon Attendant at the Soap Factory. This is the famous Soap Factory set up by Lord Leverhulme.

I found a website about Port Sunlight Village and discovered there is a museum there. I have emailed them asking if they have any records of his employment at the Soap Factory. Their reply was no however they did find his obituary which was in the Port Sunlight News. I have been informed by the lady at the Museum that the obituary was really sad, he wife died about a week after him leaving 7 children. My nan was only 13 at this time. I have no idea who brought her up.

If anyone is in the area or who is able to visit the Museum for me to collect a copy of the obituary and then forward it to me I would be extremely grateful.

If you are able to help me please pm me for further information.

Many Thanks
