Thanks so much for information you have sent. We dont have a lot of family paperwork, so would need to send off for the marriage certificate.
I came up with the same name of Gibbs, I will follow this lead and see what happens.

Staffordshire / Trying to Trace Ethel May Smith - Staffordshire
« on: Wednesday 08 July 15 13:41 BST (UK)  »
I am wondering if any one can help as I have come to a bit of stop regarding my husbands family tree.
My husbands Nan was born Ethel May Smith on 15th July 1913 (not sure of town), and died May 2002 in Staffordshire.
We know that she married a Walter Smith in Meriden 1937, but the confusion comes as they both have such common first and last names.
Would love to find out who their parents etc where, but not having any luck.
Any help gratefully accepted.

Hi,

I am interested in the Paling's (my maiden name is Paling)

I have done a lot of research on them for the Nottingham and surrounding area of Lincolnshire.

Let me know if you require any information

Many thanks for all your help.
I dont seem to be having much look with the 41341 as they all seem to start from either 5 or 7.
Will keep looking, but any help gratefully received.

Staffordshire / Police Officer 41341
« on: Tuesday 09 April 13 13:24 BST (UK)  »
I live in Staffordshire and over the weekend I have dug up in the garden a police issue whistle with the number 41341 printed on it.  I have been informed that the the number on it is of the police officer it was given to. Writing on it unclear but can make out Metropolition Police, maker was J Huson, 244 Barr Street Birmingham
Does any one have any ideas on how to find out who this officer was as this particular whistle would have been made between 1909 and 1922 and wonder if this could be a local family.
Thanks

Sorry I have never replied but for some reason some of my messages were missing and have suddenley appeared.

I am sorry that this was your Grandmother and that I have brought it back up but I am hoping you may be able to give me some answers.

After my father in law died in 2006 we were sorting his paperwork ect out and we came across an orginal death certificate for Eva May Spencer, but the family had no idea who she was or how she fitted into the family.  My self and my husband are slowly looking at his family tree and would love to know if your Grandmother was any way related.

I hope you can help

Best Wishes

Hi,

Many thanks for getting in touch.  I think I have been in touch with some of your family but didnt realise that that there was any more family out there !!!

As you may be aware this has also come as a shock to this side of the family as well as yourselves.

I would love to hear some about yourself/family as I am still putting things into place.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

I have also just found an entry for the above.  It was the Bitchfield area that put me off but have been assured that this is in Grantham.
Its amazing how two families can be virtually the same and live not far from each other.  Think I will take a closer look at the family you have suggested.

Many thanks
