Kent / Cullens of Hackington and Thanington
« on: Thursday 20 August 15 09:07 BST (UK)  »
My Cullen ancestors lived in Hackington, Kent from the 1841 census onwards. My 4xgreat grandfather William Cullen was born about 1786 in Thanington, Kent. His wife Sophia was born about 1792 in Faversham, and their first few children were christened in Tong, Kent (1815-1821) before they moved to Hackington.
I haven't managed to find out anything more about William and Sophia. Does anyone have any connection to the Cullens?

Essex / Barnabas Moul of Tillingham, and Hannah Fincham
« on: Thursday 20 August 15 09:03 BST (UK)  »
I have the birth certificate of my 2xgreat grandfather Charles Moul, born 31/1/1852 in Dengie - his parents are Barnabas Moul and Hannah Moul formerly Fincham. I can't find the marriage of Barnabas and Hannah anywhere. I assume they married before their son Barnabas was born in 1847.

The spelling of Moul changes a lot - Moule/Moull/Mole/Moles/Mawl/Mawls - but this has not helped me find the marriage!

Hannah Fincham was born between 1819 and 1821 in either Southminster or Tillingham. Her parents are possibly John and Hannah Fincham, who lived in Purleigh in 1841 and 1851. Hannah is not with them in 1841, and I've not found them anywhere else.

Any more information about the Moul and Fincham families would be much appreciated. I'd love to trace Barnabas's family back further too.

Huntingdonshire / Titman family of Sawtry
« on: Thursday 20 August 15 08:53 BST (UK)  »
My ancestors William Glithro and Elizabeth Titman married in Yaxley in 1834. Elizabeth was born between 1806 and 1810 in Sawtry. I haven't managed to find out anything about her family. Can anyone help?
I've found a few Titmans in the right are, but haven't managed to connect them to Elizabeth. I imagine she was living in Yaxley at the time of her marriage.

Northamptonshire / Sharp family in Wollaston, Brawn family in Grendon
« on: Thursday 20 August 15 08:12 BST (UK)  »
My 3xgreat grandparents Thomas Sharp and Elizabeth Brawn married in Grendon, Northamptonshire in 1833. Their children were all born in Wollaston, where Thomas was from. (I imagine Elizabeth was from Grendon, but have no confirmation of this.)

In the 1851 census, Thomas Sharp is living in Wollaston with his children William, Charlotte and Louisa; his marital condition is "married" but Elizabeth is not there. I've not found her anywhere else. She was 25 at the time of the 1841 census, so I'm assuming she's between 25 and 29 in 1851. I've found possible burials for her in Wollaston, 1852 (age 40) and 1853 (age 35).

Does anyone have any connections to this family, particularly the Brawns? This is part of my family tree I'm a little stuck on...
