Hi Gary, I finally applied for the birth certificate but GRO refunded part of the fee saying that Sarah's father was not Thomas , so back to the drawing board!
I will have to go through all the Sarahs born from 1856 - 58 and try each one, I guess.

In the meantime, in the 1891 census, I have found an Elizabeth Roloson (could be a mispelling of Robinson ) who is a servant. born ab 1875 in Newbottle.   What are your thoughts on this?

regrads

Hi Janice

It is always deflating when the GRO turns out to be a dead end. The newbottle Elizabeth could be worth investigating as it is the H-L-S registration district. Wherever the family are they seem like they don't want to be found. Maybe a fresh pair of eyes may help. The people on RootsChat always amaze me at finding people or place's.

Added: Janice, just out of interest who are the witness's on Elizabeths marriage certificate.
