Edward Wootton, married twice ?

Looking for 2 marriages to Edward Wootton please.
In the 1861 census he, age 35 b. Bilston, is married to  Mary Ann ? aged 21 b. Acton Trussell and living in Wednesbury;
but the oldest child at home is 16, drawing me to the conclusion that he was married before.
I found one marriage  in June 1842 between Edward Wootton - Grace Timmins at Dudley but don't know of a way to cross check this to try and prove this is his first wife. Neither can I find her burial.
I can't find a second marriage to Mary ann at all.
Can anyone help me please ?

Thanks for that Donna, I am going to try that out. but will still have to work on the second marriage. I suppose the same criteria would apply.

yes you could apply for Charlotte birth cert or any of the other children born to Mary

I think for the moment I will carry on following  the Wootton line, as I always wonder off on someone else, and I can always do that later on.
Do you have access to the 1841/51 census ? If so,  I would be most grateful if you could look up Edward Wootton senior on both counts for me?
Is that too cheeky ?

My uncle George Wootton  from Smethwick married an Edith Skidmore in the 1950's. I notice you mention both Smethwick and Skidmore in your name interests, Any connection do you think ?
