The family emigrated to Canada about 1856. I am trying to find the parents of Isabella Hardie and hoped that the original marriage record might list her parents. Her birth date came from the 1901 census of Canada, but these dates are often incorrect.

The date of 01 jan 1825 is from the 1901 census of Canada. From experience, there is a >50% chance that this is wrong.

So, the entries from Cumbernauld and Linlithgow are equally likely, with both being relatively slose to Larbert. They named sons James and Robert, so that doesn't help either.
