Wallingford Farm Training Colony
« on: Wednesday 26 October 05 12:21 BST (UK) »
Can anybody tell me what kind of establishment this was in the 1920s and where I might find some more information?

Thank you.

Wallingford Farm Training Colony was set up c1911 by William Henry Hunt for 'rejects of the Poor Law system' mainly boys. It is now known as the Turner Court Youth Trust. Here is an interesting article http://www.pettarchiv.org.uk/survey-williamhunt1.htm and this is the current site for the trust http://www.turnerscourt.org.uk/Home.htm

Found this out after my father was discharged to the farm in the 1940's
The 'Headaches' of Bradfield, Bucklebury, Pangbourne etc etc!
