Samuel POWELl

Looking for ancestors of a convict Samuel Powell sent to Australia in 1819.  He was married in 1813 to Mary Vaughan, and she came to Australia.  They had 2 children Louisa born and died as baby, and Robert POWELL and he now has 7 generations of descendants.
I know it is looking for a needle in a haystack but maybe?? we will be lucky.

I've both POWELL and HOWELLS from the Hay.  Perhaps we might compare notes?

Hi Dave

Didn't check my Powell until today.  I would love to be able to swap info with you but we have to rely on convict indents, which at that time don't give a great deal of info.  All we know is that Samuel Powell was born in Hay, married in 1813 to Mary Vaughan, and transported in 1819.  He died in 1832 - am at the library doing this and don't have the information with me.
He had one child who survived a Robert Powell who had a large no of children here in oz.

Are the Powell's and Howell's names interchangable?
