I've just realised that I now have 23 pages of my ggg Grandfather's handwriting.  How cool is that?

You might want to get a graphoanalyst to take a good long look at this handwriting.  You might get a unique slant on what he was like!

I have not heard of the term graphoanalyst before  :-[ I used to be a graphologist some 20 years ago. It is without doubt the most amazingly revealing study.
I often would open letters become absorbed in analysing the handwriting and forget to read the letter !... ::)

Oh the reason for the post ? my great grandfather was an enumerator at Somerset House now how cool is that !...

I did hesitate before using the term "graphoanalyst", as I would normally use "graphologist".  I have seen both used.  I chose this one because I thought it would be more self-explanatory for people who had never heard of either.

Hi,
My 3 x great grandfather wasn't an enumerator but his signature would have appeared on a fair few things because he was  a "relieving officer and registrar" in the Andover district of Hampshire

I don't have a relative that was an emunerator but my grand-children do..... me !!  I worked for the local authority all my life and when in my late teens/early twenties acted as enumerator (for a pittance !) and remember vividly traipsing round the streets knocking on doors and obtaining the necessary information.  I didn't realise at the time just how interested I would become in the results of other enumerators !!!

Just think!  At some time in the future, your Great Grandchildren will be passing your work on to a graphologist, graphonalyst or whatever these people might be called in the future and will be drawing all kinds of conclusions about what you were like   ;D

In the last census, 2001, I worked as an enumerator. It wasnt quite the same as in the old days  as folk were supposed to post their forms back - I only had to deliver them personally, explain them, and chase up the ones that didnt come back. No filling in details on the doorstep! But I am so glad I did it. Spending hours looking at previous censuses, it is good to think I played a part in this one.
When I drive through my 'area' I still think to myself about the people living there!
