Fuzzy, faded and damaged but not lost
« on: Wednesday 26 October 05 18:00 BST (UK) »
I've seen some cracking work done on this board - really great.

I've got one picture of my great grandad which I have on my website.  I wonder if there is anyway of improving the contrast to see his face better?  I guess there isn't really a way of zooming in?  Any TLC you can give would be appreciated.

Experiment, computer crashed. After system restore,I've lost the use of Photoshop Elements, (don't know serial number) . So this is with Photoshop 5.
(Scene looks like a typical Summers day at Aberystwyth) :-X

Quite a lot of low level scratches & scuffs on this when you really zoom in.

These are great thanks.

The little chap at the back is much clearer now.  I find it such a shame that I have no name for most of these people.

The little girl screwing her face up is my nan Lilian Palmer (same girl as my profile photo).  The man is my gxgrandad Alfred Palmer he was 6' 3" and quite the oddity in his neighbourhood (The Dingle, Liverpool) as he had a broad Zummerzet accent.  The older lady is an unknown aunty of my nan (Hughes) - there was a dozen of them in Llandudno (close kmo).  Don't know the other kids and not sure if the younger lady is my ggrandma or her sister (Hughes) who looked like her.

The clearer photo may help someone recognise them.

Thanks again,
Pam

Incidently my great grandma, married to the chap in the photo, used to colourise photos for a living.  My nana said she was very good.
