Jan, I know Thomas Harling married Sarha Pickford in 1903 @ Lancaster, i am awaiting a marriage cert copy,they had the following issue :- Bella, Annie, Jane Thomas, George( my father), Bessie, & John, in the 1930/40s they had a shop next to a pub , The Victoria Inn , i think, this was on Hyde Road , Dukinfield, My father always said we were the only Harlings in the Hyde area, the name is unusual in that locality, but whilst researching, other harling kept appearing ie theres a Leonard registered birth the same time as my dad, but from Newton, Hyde, and i thought we were the only ones, so i am tryting to see if there is a connection. Further to the above, could anyone tell me if there are Harlings in the telephone directory for Thameside ?. I recently discovered a John Thomas Harling registered in Hyde at the same time as myself, i was never aware of other Harlings in the Hyde area. Jacqui
