Hi Rosanne,
Have you tried looking on www.1837online.com  It's a pay per view sight but it's got all or nearly all civil registrations on.  I've used it a few times and it's quite reasonably priced.

Hi Rosanne.

1837online has nearly all births, marriages & deaths from the start of civil registration in 1837 to the current time.  It's the website of the General Records Office.  If you find what your looking for you can even order a certificate on line, just fill the online form in, not forgetting the GRO reference number.  I've had several certificates from them at 7 pounds a cert, takes about 6 days for it to arrive.
