Marriage Mystery around 1840's???
« on: Saturday 29 October 05 16:35 BST (UK) »
Hi There

I am looking for a marriage between my GGG Uncle Thomas Tivey and his wife Elizabeth. I dont know where to look -  I am trying to find Elizabeths maiden name. I think their marriage would be around 1839-1843. Their first child was born abt 1842/43 in Staunton Harold.  Elizabeth was born in Ratby, Thomas was born in Staunton Harold and lived most of his life in Worthington and Belton.  Because the Tivey's are mostly situated around the Leicestershire/Derbyshire/Staffordshire borders its quite impossible to say which Parish they may have married in, but I'm hoping someone outthere has the resources and prescious time to help ???

Cheers

Do you have the birth reference for that first child? This will give you Elizabeth's maiden name. It may be a quicker and easier option - hopefully :)

Perhaps you could post the name for us

Hi Tricia

I have had a quick look on freebmd and cant find a reference for her birth either, she was named Maria Tivey and according to the 1851 census she was born abt 1842 in Worthington, we know she later married someone named Woodfield, but thats about it!
