I  read  this  with  interest  and   maybe  try  going  to  this  site  and  post  a  message   it's  a  long  shot  but  worth a  try.  Many  service  men  and  families  visit  this  site.

Also  my  husband  said  this  would  not  be  pilot  or  navagator   he's  not  wearing  wings.  Could  also  be  a  brother  of  one  of  the  crew.

I had an old posting from the same site you emailed and had the same response..so hopefully2 enquiries may help with them looking.

I've also emailed the following sites to see if they have info.  I found the names of the crew listed on a virtual memorial.  There is a site called Bombercrew.com which I have emailed.

http://www.bombercrew.com/main.htm

Another site I've emailed is Ex Air Gunners

http://www.angelfire.com/trek/rcaf/exag0103.html

Someone must know something somewhere!

Hi Caroline,

The mayor of Bathurst, N.B. is going to look into this, and check with the Burke family living there, to see if they are related to 'Ernest Burke', who was killed.

He will get back to me as soon as he has any information.
