1891 census
« on: Sunday 30 October 05 09:59 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me trace my  great grandmother Alice Watson born between 1885-1888 fathers name Thomas Henry Watson. I dont have any address for her apart from when she was married in 1910 which was 5 Cross Street Tynemouth, her age is at 23 on the wedding certificate. She could have been born in North or South Shields.

I was looking at a Thomas who I thought was a Thomas Henry in Wallsend. There's a census page missing with his family on, but he was a Carpenter/Joiner.

It's difficult to know where Alice's family would be in 1891. Do you happen to know if the marriage witnesses were from Alice's family or her husband's?

In the 1891 South Shields census there is a Thomas, born Heaton, aged 44 who has a daughter, Alice A, aged 1yr born SS. There were 11 children altogether!

The reference is piece no 4156, folio 98. page 23.

Hope that's your family!

Thanks Jan
According to her marrriage certificate in 1910 she was 23 yrs old and her burial records in 1963 she was 75 yrs old. Her year of birth would have been between 1887 & 1888. But the ages on the certificates maybe wrong!
Can you let me know what was her mothers name and the other childrens name were
Regards
Brian
