Yes, those symptoms must definitely be added to the list - I too am emailing 4 releatives I have never met.  I get more emails from my 3rd and 4th cousins than I do from my own sister!!  I can remember her children's names-- at the moment

irritate the living :D

I always irritate my Mum when I ask her questions about her side of the family.  She is just NOT interested in my family history research :(

My seven year old daughter tells everyone I talk to dead people. Its not doing my image much good.

don't know about the lighter side - your daughter will have people thinking it is the darker side (may the force be with you!) but I know what you mean - and some ancestors definitely speak louder than others.

I love the descriptions :)  Seriously addicted and have no intention of therapy.   My mother is amazed that I can know the names/dates/places of everyone I research and that I can almost find anyone I look for.  Still have a few people out there that will be found.  Whether they want to or not.

What a great idea for Christmas.. asking for money for certificates to support my addiction.  Sure beats new clothes any day :)  Actually, a trip to Ireland and England would be the best Christmas present and I could go "grave robbing" looking for my DH's family.
researching Pringle, Robinson, Coulson, Lisle, Armitage from, Dublin, Ireland, Northumberland, England, and Midlothian, Scotland

I am a nurse in a district general hospital and the other day I had a patient in my clinic who had the same surname as one I had come across in my family tree. Yes, you guessed it, I started grilling him about where his family were from and did he know anything about their history. Perhaps its time to seek help from my colleagues in the psychiatric department.

I m a hopeless case. Today I had a phone call from a potential customer who has the same, fairly unusual, surname as my 4th cousin's mother's maiden name (4th cousin found on Genes Reunited) and I considered asking him who he was decended from before discussing what he wanted. (well he is in the same town as they were 150 years ago ;D) I've arranged an "essential client visit" and I know I will drop family history into the conversation - and it is not even MY line. I've got it bad
