Hi
I am looking for any information on the birth of a Dennis Pearce born abt 1849. I have death cert showing age 46 in 1895,in Burnham Westgate but are unable to trace any birth.
I would be grateful for any information.

Hi Chubbler,

The 1891 census has a Dennis Pearce born c1845 Burnham, Norfolk and living in Burnham Westgate. No corresponding birth on FreeBMD, but maybe you could try 1837online around that date?

Cheers,

Ros

Hi
Thank you both for taking the time to look for Dennis Pearce, I can see him on the 1881 census and have looked on 1837online in 1845 but to no avail, will try going back another  year or so. He must be there somewhere.
 Many thanks

Hi Chubbler,
You may be aware of the following info but just in case!

Although registering events commenced 1837, it didn't become compulsory until 1875.

I picked that snippet up via the Yorkshire board fairly recently, having the odd person whose birth registration seemed to be missing, it was as though someone switched on the light  ;D

Good luck.
Concentrating currently on:
Essex: Card, Harris, Stowell, Theobald/Tibbles & Turner.
Norfolk: Beale, Cork & Dalton.
Yorkshire: Oswald Sturdy birth/baptism c1708, Oswald where the devil are you?

Hi findem
I was beginning to think the very same! Have searched 1837online thoroughly to no avail. I can find his spouse's marr. so will take it from there I think.
Thanks!
