Fairfields of Gilnahirk, Co. Down
« on: Thursday 26 August 04 17:38 BST (UK) »
I am looking for some information on David Fairfield and Margaret Ann Dunlop.  The had 13 children and my wifes grandfather William David Fairfield b.1890 was the youngest.  I have found on IGI, three sisters born in the 1870's (Ann, Agnes & Minnie) and know of a possible James, Irene.  How might I find siblings of William and the deaths of family members in Gilnahirk?

Hi,

If the children were born in the 1870's, their births should be registered so check the indexes available at your local family history centre. If they married post 1864, you should look for their marriage too.

Great Anthony:
I talked to the granddaughter of Bella Fairfield (nee Connor) and she thinks your right on with the name of the graveyard.  She says it is only marked with a wooden cross that says "mother" so little information to be gleaned from that.  Thanks again for all your help and your in sites into Irish life.  It has been most interesting!!
regards

Bella died in either 1932 or 1933.  Her daughter Jean was 10 years old at the time and she was born in 1922.
I am not sure if finding it will glean any more information as according to family members it only has the words "mother" on a wooden cross.  I was hoping it had her age or year of birth etc.
