Robert Coombes Sanders Born  1837/38
I think his fathers name was Edward.
Would I be able to order a birth certificate for Robert, if so where would I do so.
I have just found - through your wonderful site that my ggrandfather was born here after years of searching.

I think you will find St Helens should read St Helier and is clearly a mis transcription.

BMDs are registered by  the parish which in they occured. In your case this would  have been the Parish of St Helier.
Pre 1847 when civil registration began bmd s mostly  recorded in church records again by parish and  have been indexed.
After 1847  central registration. again indexed.
 The Jersey Archive Centre has copies of all indices. See my  posting for their website and e mail address

The staff are very helpful and should you find the reference details certificates are obtainable from the Registrars office.
