Hey Kris - while benji's away the Aussies will play - lol ;D ;D ;D

I'm having another look around but don't think there is a birth there yet to suit Andrew and every second person seems to be called Elizabeth Richardson!

Well done Cobber!!

Thought I would look for Andrews uncle in 1891 to see if there was anything further on where they may come from in Scotland but alas

RG12/450 ED 29 Folio 59 Page 17 Entry 110
163 South Street
Wandsworth

William M Lyon Head 41 married but no wife listed b SCT Gardener
Andrew Lyon son 15 b SCT CC Clerk
May Lyon dau 13 b SCT
Albert Lyon son 11 b SCT
John Lyon son 5 b SCT

mmmm ages seem right but this says all b SCT   ??? I tried 1901 for this family but sadly couldnt find them.

of possible interest is there is another Andrew Lyon in Wandsworth in 1891 census

RG12/445 ED 5 Folio 93 Page 2 Entry 5
78 .... Kingston Rd
Wandsworth

Andrew Lyon Head 36 b SCT Gardener
Elizabeth E Lyon Wife 38 b Ashington Sussex
Margaret M Lyon dau 10 b Worthing Sussex
Jessie C Lyon dau 9 b Worthing Sussex
Andrew J Lyon son 7 b Wandsworth
Grace M Lyon dau 4 b Wandsworth
Emily C Lyon dau 1 b Wandsworth

Looks like a connection there! Mayb another uncle?.....very similar to your family 4 sure Benji...both even had children Jessie and Andrew....

Kris - you have boggled me mind mate  :o

But I have endeavoured not to let the side down. I couldn't find Andrew on FreeBMD but I had a few units left on 1837online so ...... The only Andrew Lyon born in 1857 is -

                     Jan Quarter 1857

                                         Volume       Page

 Andrew Lyon  Easington        10a           297

Easington is in Durham - I know cos I checked  ;D

All the best from Kris 'n Aaron in OZ, benji  ;D ;D

Well arnt u a lovely person Aaron to spend your units on it for Benji....Yes sounds right to me.... In the same area for sure..Excellent work!  ;D That has to be the right one though we r now bogged under with Andrews!! at least no other appears as b Durham or we would b in trouble!! Benji should b a very happy chappy when he finds this.  ;) He has sure progressed a long way in a short time.  ??? Enjoy sorting out your Andrews Benji.

Cheers Kris

Wow! You guys are really something - thanks for all that info. There is a family story concerning my father being raised by someone other than his parents. Can you therefore help me find the death of Elizabeth Lyon nee Richardson?
There is also said to be a Scottish connection via LYON but we cannot prove it...............unless it was through the uncle William - the brother of Andrew's father who was born in Scotland according to your research
How do you get the free BMD search?
