Hi Paul,

I wonder if you are still so kindly doing lookups at the Flints Record Office.

I have a family of Williams's that are driving me mad, have spent the last 4 years on them and im still no further along. (im also in Australia so i cant get to the records centre myself! )

The information i have is

Thomas Williams bn 1851
Robert Williams bn 1841
and William Williams 1847

All born to a Thomas Williams and Mary ? in 1871/81/91 Mary is at New Quay holywell as a widow - but i cant find the family before then on the 1861 or prior. (son william 24 is there in 1871, son thomas 41 is there with her in 1891)

have tried to get roberts birth from gro three times but he's not down for 1841, 42, or 43 (there are robert williams' but none of them have thomas and mary for parents)

I really would appreciate any help with these guys if it is possible.

Thanks so much in advance

Tammy

If you are still doing look ups at the Flinshire records office and Denbighshire can be searched I would be grateful (but not hopeful) if you could search for a birth of my GGGGrandfather James Lee born 1800 Denbighshire.
I have him on the 1841 census in Pulford Cheshire aged 40 Farmer not born in county. On the 1851 census aged 51 Farmer born Gresford, Denbishire (as it was spelt) Then no more after that.
Any help gratefully recieved
Thanks

Hi Libby,
The Records Office hold Baptism, Marriage & Burial records not Birth & Death records.
I think it's better when you are not hopeful and you find who you are looking for here he is.
Gresford Baptism 17 November 1800.
James Lee S/O John. abode Crosshowel.

Early records don't give you much information some have Mothers Name or Fathers occupation I'm told it depends on the Vicar.

I also found other Baptisms of Lee Children with a Father John.
25 Dec 1790. Alice. abode Burton.
9 Jan 1793. Thomas             """"
9 Jan 1797. Richard.           Crosshowel.
12 Aug 1798. Samuel.         Burton.
14 Nov 1803 Edward.            """""
11 Aug 1805. Elizabeth.         """"" Mother Alice.
5 Jan 1808. Lydia                   """     """""    ""     Fathers Occ Farmer.

Do any of these ring any bells?

Paul.

Absolutely brilliant. James Lees baptism. Thank you so much.

As to his possible brothers and sisters mmmmmmmmmmmmm  not sure. James names 4 of his own 9 children Alice, Thomas (being my GGGrandfather), Richard and Elizabeth. I'd appreciate your opinion:

Would they have lived in so many different places?

Having had Richard in 1797 abode Crosshowel, then Samuel abode Burton, back to my James at Crosshowel then back to Burton for Edward etc?

Would there be any chance you may be able to look for a marriage for John (James's dad) please. I know James probably married in Cheshire as his wife was from Pulford, Cheshire so I'm not too bothered about him.

Many, many thanks again Paul

Best regards
LibbyW

Hi Libby, your guess is as good as mine about James's brothers and sisters. I would think Richard is being born Crosshowel, the thing is how close is Burton to Crosshowel and does one run into the other so to speak. Lydia is the only one with Fathers occupation, a Farmer and on the census you have James as a Farmer.
I was going to suggest looking for James's Marriage certificate for a Fathers name but very few had fathers name or occupation that early.
I did look at Gresford Marriages 1754-1812 but no James or John sorry.
If you think of anything let me know and I'll have a look.

Paul.
