Cher4,

You didn't say whether you had any later information, this looks like him in 1851

HO107/1695 Folio 564 Page 48
Clewer District 8B

17 South Place

Richard PORTER, Head, 65, Bricklayer, b Datchet Bucks
Elizth PORTER, Wife, 64,    , Alton Hants
Richrd PORTER, Son, 21, Bricklayer, Windsor Berks

(names as shortened on census).

I'll see whether I can find them in 1841.

Hello thank you for taking the time , i am almost certain that is the right family, Richard was a family name and most were bricklayers. I do have them from 1861 -1901.

If you could find them on the 1841 i would be grateful as it would be nice to find some siblings

thank you so much

Cher4,

Found them in 1841 in South Place, Clewer
HO 107/26/2 page 16

Name, Age, Profession, Born in County?
R-d PORTER, 50, Bricklayer,N
Eliz-th, 50,  , N
R, 10,  ,Y

The image is absolutely appalling and the enumerator has shortened the christian names.   As you may be aware, ages are rounded down to the nearest 5, so they look about right.   I am fairly convinced that the other entry is Richard jnr.

Richard snr was listed in 1861 census at the Windsor Workhouse.

Can't find Richard jnr in 1861 or later - yet.

Harry

It certainly looks like it could be them as you say the ages fit, the occupation fits and place fits. It looks more like Richard jnr was an only child.

I know some 1841 pages are awful to read so do appreciate your time.

thanks again
