Picture Clean up

Hi

Could SKS clean up this photo for me please.

It is my Grandfather while in the army in about 1950. If anyone can add colour to it as well would be greatly appreciated.

not sure about the date
Can you give some details, regiment or uniform colour please.
The Berry looks a lighter shade, though maybe the light.

Many thanks for your reply. Unfortunatly I am not sure. My Mother told me that he was called up to do Natonal Service. All I know is that he was posted to Egypt. I have got paperwork which instructs his service and when he was allowed to leave but no regiment is stated. Sorry but this is all the details I have.

Sorry I just read my earlier post  - It should read 1950 NOT 1850. I will edit it!!!!!!

It would be worth posting what you have to the military section on here, and asking.
Someone may have the info you need, there is much on the web also regarding Nat/service.
Some of the badge is visible and will help.

This is weird,
I had a quick go, and have left the rough edges.
I will add to it, but trying to leave the detail in at the same time.

And weird?
It is the first time I have worked on a photo, that is all but me, but isn't.

I'll explain later.
