1841 Lookup - Bird Family - Dorking area

Looking for the Following Family in 1841:

Daniel Bird b? Head
Mary Anne Bird b. abt 1803 Horsley
Elizabeth Bird b. abt 1835 Wotton
Emma/Emily Bird b. abt 1837 Wotton

I would expect the family to be in Wotton in 1841.

Daniel had died before 1851 when Mary Ann and Emily were in the household of Thomas Bravery in Westcott. Elizabeth was working in Abinger.

I believe that Daniel Bird m Mary Ann Wooldridge 13 nov 1831 St Martha on the Hill, Chilworth, Surrey, England. There is a death registration for Daniel Bird in Jun Qtr 1847 in Dorking, so he should appear in the 1841 census.

Any help would be appreciated,

I have looked through the 1841 census for Wotton, Surrey and found quite a lot of Birds but not the ones you want.

I will check Westcott and Dorking when I have time to see if they were there.

I notice that one of your surnames is Dibble. In 1861 Elizabeth Bird was working at the Evelyn Arms in Dorking (along with her future Husband, John Peters). The Head is listed as Mary Dibble.

Looking at the 1851 census, the Evelyn Arms was run by Daniel and Mary Dibble (Daniel having died before 1861). Working there at that time was a Thomas Bird who may have been related to Elizabeth.

Is this one of your Dibble families?

Oh crikey the hairs on my arms stood up when I read your posting!
I'm researching the Bravery family & Thomas Bravery was the youngest brother of my 3x greatgrandfather.  I have his will & in it he leaves 50 pounds to his housekeeper, Mary Ann Bird!  Thomas was a bachelor & a carpenter/cabinet maker by trade & seems to have lived in Westcott for much of his life.  I have a copy of the auction details of the house contents at Westcott, which Mary Ann must have dusted on numerous occasions , from 1853 when Thomas died.
Love to hear from you & be of any help if I can, as I have Dorking PR's (except marriages) up to 1840 & burial index for West Surrey up to 1865 plus the Dorking Cemetery,

Hi Kent,
I found, by chance, the 1841 information you were looking for as I was  looking back through a copy of the 1841 census.

 Daniel Bird, 35, blacksmith, born in Surrey, Mary Bird, 35, born in Surrey, Elizabeth Bird, 7, born in Surrey, Emma Bird, 2, born in Surrey, were living a few doors away from Thomas Bravery in Westcott.

I would expect they knew each other pretty well & perhaps Daniel provided smith work for Thomas's cabinet work!

Found on the West Surrey Burials Index,
Burial for Daniel Bird, 2/5/1847, age 50, at Wotton..this looks like him!
