Is it possible that John Thomas is at school
Robert Henry is living with grandparents (John and Elizabeth Davison)
Walter is living with an  Uncle (John Ellison)
Can't find Ann - could she have died too? remarried?

If you want the details, let me know

I believe that these are likely the correct children.

Thanks!

John Ellison 50 York, Yorkshire Head  plasterer
Ann Ellison 49 York, Yorkshire Wife
Walter Doughty 3 York, Yorkshire Nephew

 1 Brook Street Clifton  Yorkshire  RG9/3544  13/76

I think Ann would surely be with one of the children if living?  unless she had to go away to work, or remarried a man who didn't want the children.

(I can make up lots of stories  ;D  ;D )

Hope this helps sort them out

Trish

This is wonderful, thank you!

I bet that 'Garricks Head' is the name of the pub as you suggest.

Not sure where to turn now with this DOUGHTY family. Will need to think about it a bit...perhaps inspiration will come my way after a nice walk.

Mary

P.S. Appreciate your comments about what may have happened to Ann.
