Spice - Catt- Bourn link (Mar 05)
I am looking for info about my great great grandparents Charles Bourn(e) and his wife Caroline Susannah (nee Spice) both born in about 1826 i-Charles in Hollingbourne and Caroline in Thurnham/Thornham (also in Hollingbourne district). They named one of their sons Richard Catt Bourn(e) and passed on a story that they were related to the Catt family of Kent corn merchants. Maybe this was fanciful as all their children and grandchildren were agricultural labourers according to census details. Anyone any links which might help? The family also lived in Aylesford and Maidstone, according to subsequent census info. Richard joined up in Portsmouth before married.  Richard Catt Bourne is my great grandfather.Thank you to all you genealogical detectives...your prowess is second to none.  I am a relative novice at this and would appreciate any help.  I have Richard's birth certificate which confirms his unusual middle name.

Any help at all would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
