Bells of Carlaverock
« on: Monday 30 August 04 09:08 BST (UK) »
I am tracing the Bells of Carlaverock Dumfries.

John Bell (my 3rd GG Father) born 11 Oct 1812 in Carlaverock to George Bell, John married Mary Ann Bell (marriage date not known) and had 5 children:- Robert 1833, James 1841, Janet 1842, jane 1848, David 1849.

My 4th GG Father George had 10 children but his wife was not listed on any of thier births so I am still searching for his marriage and birth. The children were, James 1898, Jean 1801, Jean 1803, Margaret 1803, Mary 1805, Janet 1808, Robert 1810, John 1812, and William 1818.

Any help with this line would be great, I have tried Scotlandpeople and cannot find any other information, has anyone any ideas.

thanks

Victor

Hiya,

Bell is a tough one to as it is so common in Dumfrieshire.

Do you have all the census entries? 1841/51 etc?
