Precious Picture help please

Hi

This is a very precious picture that I have, it shows my Great Grandparents and all but the youngest of their children who wasnt yet born. My Grandad is on his mums knee.  It is the only photo I have that shows them all together.

The photo is not that bad but there are some lines and marks on it, and if possible could they be removed.

Any help with this would be great.

Hi there,
      I'm short on time at the mo' but that is a good quality image and has plenty of potential, One question though - did some stray light (see the colour fog in centre) get into the scanner.
       To begin here it is with tonal adjustment and sharpened.

Many thanks for that, it is certainly loads better.

The picture came from a disc that was sent to me, so maybe the light mark was from who scanned it to disc?

Beautiful job, Denn.  The final results are lovely!  You know I love the sepia look....

As well as the colour/light anomaly there seems to be something happening with the eldest boy's head, the RHS looks iffy to me on the original. 

Despite that, wonderful work!
