Hello Celia

I would be very grateful if you could help with the following:

Grimshaw
Ada Nellie
Date of death:  5th January 1951
Address:  62 Albion Street Wallasey

I know that she was buried in Rake Lane and that she probably didn't even have a headstone, but I would like to know the plot/area of the cemetery where she was buried and pay my respects (she was my Grandmother whom I never met).

Also would like to find grave for her husband who died in 1949

I will do your burial look-up when i go to the Library this coming week to find which section they are on.Do you know what religion they were the films go by religion C.O.E (N.C) and Catholic.Your grandparents will probably be in the same grave.

You say you know that Ada Nellie Grimshaw and her Husband are in Rake Lane, I looked in C.O E.1949 for John Rowland.Having no quarter i looked right through from January to December and didn't find a burial.Unfortunately in the 1949 records there is a thick black Line that goes right through the pages January to around November.You just see the top of some letters under the black line but you cant read them.So Maybe John is under one of those line.
So I then looked for your grandmother thinking I would find the grave but i didn't find her either.Any Suggestions as to why I cant Find them? Normally on some years you find C.O.E & N.C. on the same film but as the years go by the films change and some N.C are on a separate film. Maybe that's whats happened here because Landican and another cemetery were on the same film and i didn't notice any mention of N.C. on the label.However if you would like another look-up It will have to be in the archives  at the end of the week.

Thank you so much for the very time consuming look up on my behalf!  I appreciate your hard work very much.
I do not know why the records seem so elusive for both of my ancestors, John Roland Grimshaw died in 1949 and Ada Nellie Grimshaw died in January 1951.  She may have been just recorded as Nellie Grimshaw but other than that I have no further information which may help!  They were both living in Albion Street New Brighton at the time of their deaths.  If you have time to look up any further I would really appreciate it but please don't go to any trouble or out of your way (more than you have already).

I was meant to be doing another look-up unfortunately I became unwell.I am O.K Now so will do it after the Holidays when the libraries reopen on Thursday
