Nesdale family - Where did they come from?

I have found a Catherine Nesdale marriage. The only source of the surname is in Ireland. Can amnyone give me any clue as to where they may have originated or where I could look

Seem to be several in co.Leitrim, looking at the IGI.But not a common name in Ireland. Also a couple in co.Cavan.
Also two Catherine Nesdale births, but as parents are the same, presumably the first died and they named the next born girl after her.
