Boxall in Census 1851-1871 help please
« on: Thursday 10 November 05 21:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

Having major difficulty locating Harry Boxall b 1846 (according to his marriage cert in 1882, he was living in Preston, Lancs at the time and was a Color Sergeant in THe Kings Royal Rifle Corps).  His father was Henry Boxall occupation Gardener and deceased by 1882 marriage of Harry.  Do not know where in the country they were living unless they were out of the country.  Boxalls seem to be populating the South East area of the UK.  Any help appreciated.  Just need a fix to find his age and where born.

Many thanks

John Rowley

Hi suepip

Thanks for the lookup.  It might be them but Harry should be about 5 as he is aged 36 in 1882 according to his marriage cert which would make him born 1846.

Henry his father is dead by 1882.

Will bear this one in mind as sometimes census 5's and 9's are easily mistranscribed.

Cheers
