Hi lynbee,
Any chance off a larger scan? If you scan it at 300Kb or higher and save as a Tiff, you can use the http://www.yousendit.com/ link to send the file to the following email address.. rootschat.photo@gmail.com You can send files up to 1Gb
Cleary, Doran, Boland, McCooey, McManus, O'brien, Martin, Savage, Wallis, McCollister, Wood.  (More to come soon)

Hi deadants,
I don't seem to be able to get that link to work.
The first time I posted the photo had been scanned at 600, so I rescanned at 1200 and left it at the original size (36.5MB).
The first time I tried to send it via YouSendIt, I left it sending while I had dinner, and when I came back there was a "This page can not be displayed" screen, so I assumed that it had timed out.
I tried again & this time it has been sending for 40mins & still I do not have a confirmation page.  What am I doing wrong......Whopps just realized that i never saved it as Tiff...will that make a difference?
Regards
Lyn

Hi Lyn,
Try and  send a small test file first, say 1Mb or so. What is your upload speed?

I have sent a few files with yousenditit.com and have had no problems. I don't think that the file format has anything to do with the problem.

You might try zipping the file before sending. As far as I remember, you right click on the file and there should be a zip menu. I use a Mac so I can't help much there.

Hi deadants,
At last i have some way to get this flamin' picture to load!!  I have been at it for over 6 hours now.
I ended up rescanning, again .......or was that rererescanning?  Finally had to take it back to rresolution of 600 and reduce the size by 50% and then on the 3rd attempt it took.  I hope that it is OK for what you want to do.

Hi Lyn,
Looks like you got there in the end. As you can see, Ken has downloaded the file and has done a good job on cleaning your photo. I don't know why you had problems with the upload, but if you found a file size that works for you than you may want to use those settings in future.

I'm hoping most people will send there files this way as it makes restoring the photos so much easier.
