Hello Sandra C

What evidence do you have for the search to be Middleham.
No Thomas Craggs there, I am curious.

At Ellingstring where Ticker pointed us to -

1841 census 1251/2 page 4a

Thomas Craggs 80 ag lab    Y
Frances     "       55           Y
Mary         "       35           I
The ' e ' in Frances could equally have been an ' i '. I selected ' e '
only because no occupation was given.
The ' I ' is for Ireland.

Hi Oly

Thanks for these - look very promising.

Only caught up on Middleham because of Matthew's birth which was certified at Middleham, Leyburn.

Odd members of the family born around N Yorks / Teeside but always coming back to Newton / Ellingstring / Masham.  Seems they outwitted me again then!

Thanks again
