I haven't assimilated all the info, but perhaps she was with rellies for more than one?  I think the families accord - there can't be many Beatrice Griffiths in Portsmouth!

The (sic) means that that is what the census says, although it might be a mistake on somebody's part!

Ann is only 7 in 1891, and her father wasnt married in 1881.  You have found her in 1901.  So we are fine?
