John William PRANKARD
« on: Wednesday 01 September 04 15:08 BST (UK) »
John William PRANKARD abruptly turns up in LAMBETH in 1852, where he marries a local girl at the Register Office. He says his father is dead, but used to be a farmer named William. I believe the latter  came from Downton in Wiltshire, but the sole William PRANKARD I have been able to locate was in Portsea, Hampshire, and worked in H.M. Dockyard. Could this possibly be the same William? If not, where can I find any trace of the farming William? Perhaps someone has access to a census of Wiltshire for 1841 or 1851, where William may be listed??

Hi Johnny,
This is an entry  of a William in Downtown, but possibly a bit early to be the father of your John William? Maybe a generation further back?  Regards, Frances
